Local community is engaged in producing local agricultural products
BoerEnCompagnie, a so-called Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) farm, works with the local community to promote sustainable and organic farming. More specifically, vegetables, grains and potatoes are grown in the fields around the abbey site. These products are sold via (self-harvesting) subscriptions and via the short supply chain.
Furthermore, pigs and cows are farmed. In the abbey farm’s milk house, BoerEnCompagnie processes the milk into yoghurt, cheese, rice pudding and more.
